چکیده
Natural products have a key role in drug discovery pharmacology and medicine. Prunus spinosa L. (blackthorn) grown Çanakkale province western Turkey, is known as medicinal plant, rich source of biologically active compounds such phenolics, flavonoids anthocyanidins. The flower fruit extracts the plant are subjects many studies, but they usually lack details its potential for bio-inhibition studies. Thus, this study aimed to investigate antioxidant, enzyme inhibition antiproliferative activity studies methanol, ethyl acetate, dichloromethane, n-hexane plant. acetate methanol demonstrated more better antioxidant with DPPH, FRAP, CUPRAC, TEAC assays. Enzyme were performed using β-lactamase various proteases. (FL) (FL L) at concentration 10 mg/mL, showed good against α-chymotrypsin, trypsin, papain values 22.6%, 34.7% 92.1%, respectively. Furthermore, displayed higher cytotoxic effect cancer cells Hep3B HT29 when compared healthy (HUVEC) MTT assay. findings suggest that P. their components may be further investigations novel candidates.

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...
Antimicrobial and Antioxidant Activities of Pycnocycla spinosa Extracts
BACKGROUND Pycnocycla spinosa (P. spinosa) a member of the Umbelliferae family is traditionally used for treatment of different ailments. OBJECTIVES This study aimed to evaluate the total phenolic and flavonoid content of P. spinosa extracts (methanol, ethanol and aqueous) and their antioxidant and antimicrobial effects. MATERIALS AND METHODS The antimicrobial activity of different extracts...
متن کاملAn assessment of genetic variability and relationships among wild-grown blackthorn (Prunus spinosa L.) plants based on RAPD markers.
Prunus spinosa, blackthorn, exists as wild populations that inhabit uncultivated uplands of Coruh Valley in the northeastern part of Turkey; the fruit is used to make preserves. We examined genetic diversity in wild-grown Prunus spinosa; 16 individual plants from wild populations of Coruh Valley were sampled and subjected to RAPD (random amplified polymorphic DNA) analysis. We tested 51 random ...
